Lane Timer - The Synchronized Stopwatch.

We are getting ready to release our latest app for all the swimmers and track and field timekeepers. Lane Timer provides a synchronized stopwatch. One phone starts the race and each lane watcher is only required to stop the timer for the lane they are watching. All times and results and synchronized and harmonized back to the master timer keeper ready for reporting and recording.

Previously keeping time has been expensive, hard, inaccurate or all three at once. Hardware is expensive and needs setup and training, it can be a big investment. Stopwatches are cheaper but it bothersome to use and not as accurate. We think Lane Timer is a great compromise. Its the best value, easiest and is more accurate than a stopwatch.

Setup is simple and requires phones running any version of iOS or Android. One phone is designated the starter and will manage the event.

The starter phone will signal the race start and send this to all linked phones. The actual start time is recorded on Google’s servers.

Each linked phone is only required to stop the race, they can do this even if the connection is spotty as the app will send the finish time to the servers as well as an estimated time drift if the phone’s clock is not perfectly set.

Once this has been tabulated the results are sent to the starting phone for display and further tabulation. There is no need to see each lane timer’s device the results can be saved and the next event started.
