Announcing Gear Track (Now in Beta!)

If you’ve ever volunteered on equipment handout night, you know the drill: freezing inside a metal storage shed or parking lot, squinting at messy paper rosters on clipboards, tracking down missing sizes, and wondering how many helmets will actually make it back at the end of the season.

We built Gear Track to put an end to the clipboard chaos and cut equipment distribution night from four hours down to 45 minutes.

Like all of our tools at SCRBRD, Gear Track is built by parents and coaches who believe volunteer jobs should be simple, fast, and headache-free.

📱 How Gear Track Works

Gear Track replaces paper sign-out sheets with the smartphones your volunteers already carry in their pockets:

  • Point-and-Shoot Phone Camera Scanning: Volunteers simply point their phone camera at gear labels and player bag tags. Tap confirm, and gear is assigned in seconds. No expensive laser scanners or Bluetooth dongles required.
  • Zero-Login Parent Manifests: Parents scan the QR code printed on their athlete’s bag tag with their phone camera. Their live gear manifest opens instantly in a web browser—no app downloads, logins, or passwords required. Parents always know what gear they have, reducing confusion and scramble on return night.
  • Flexible Individual & Group Tracking: Put barcodes on high-value safety items (like helmets and pads) to track recertification dates and condition history. For low-value bulk items (like practice pants and scrimmage pinnies), track them as simple group counts without wasting time tagging every single pair of pants.
  • Web Dashboard & Mobile Apps: League admins and equipment directors manage everything from a full-featured web dashboard, while field coaches and volunteers use the lightweight iOS and Android apps on distribution night.
